The Square & Compass in Worth Matravers has a packed programme of live music, open mic nights and mini festivals throughout the year.
With fantastic views from its garden and an array of walking routes into the Purbeck countryside on its doorstep, the pub is a popular spot for soaking up the sunshine and atmosphere, and renowned for its wide range of ciders, including home-pressed varieties, and award-winning beer.
At the back of the pub is a tiny fossil museum, filled with local finds, including ichthyosaur and pliosaur examples, clay pipes and jugs, and various items from shipwrecks off the Jurassic Coast.
Whilst The Square doesn’t have a restaurant, it does serve homemade pasties and pies, with vegetarian options available.
