🗓️ Saturday 2nd September 2023
Join Swanage at this charitable live music festival, set up to celebrate the lives of local boys Henry Searle & William Paddy.
The festival’s headline act this year is UK band Toploader (Dancing in the Moonlight) and there’s a wealth of other local bands and singers performing at Prince Albert Gardens throughout the day, including indie rock band Galaxy Thief.

There’ll be a bar and food stalls, including local The Salt Pig and Purbeck Ice Cream, as well as fun extras such as a raffle and tombola, making this a great family-friendly day out.
You’re welcome to bring your own drinks, but note that this is a plastic-free event.
Music By The Sea is now in its third year and raises funds for charities #Willdoes and Cancare.

#Willdoes
William Paddy was an animal-lover and avid sportsman who sadly passed away at the age of 14.
Will’s mum set up this charity in his memory and as a way of helping young people who might be finding life hard.
Part of the #Willdoes mission statement highlights the importance of introducing young people to sports and other activities to help them connect and engage socially, in turn developing good relationships, trust and coping mechanisms.

Cancare
Cancare Purbeck supports individuals newly diagnosed with cancer, as well as hospitals, hospices and GP practices.
The team at Cancare supported Henry and his family through his cancer diagnosis and care until his sad passing at the age of 25.
The charity’s fundraising work has enabled them to purchase a range of equipment for patients such as pressure-relieving mattresses, virtual reality headsets and specialist chairs.
The team covers Swanage, Purbeck, Wareham, Wool and Bere Regis.
