This year’s Swanage Lifeboat Week outdoor theatre performance takes us back to 18th century Bath society, in which our fashionable London set come to ‘take the waters’, in Sheridans’s Restoration comedy The Rivals.
Performed by returning Rain or Shine Theatre Company at Swanage’s amphitheatre, the play is given a “fast and furious comic flair” in this lively adaptation.
Expect a cast of comic characters (including the famous Mrs Malaprop) and romantic entanglements in this comedy of manners, which has been entertaining audiences for over 250 years.
