If you like books and music, this Artsreach performance in Studland is for you.

The Bookshop Band performs songs inspired by books and have collaborated with the likes of Philip Pullman, Margaret Atwood and Louis de Bernières.

Be entertained by multi-instrumentalists Beth Porter and Ben Please as they bring novels to life through evocative and often funny portrayals with instruments including cello, guitar, harmonium, glockenspiel, ukulele and voice.

Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with the books – The Bookshop Band will guide you through each story.

The band has 13 albums under its belt, which often include musical cameos by featured authors, and has won various awards.

Recent commissions include writing for the 2024 stop-motion animation Robin Robin, for which the band was nominated for an Ivor Novello award.
