Settle down on the sand for one of the UK’s oldest seaside summer Punch & Judy shows – going strong since 1904.
Join Professor Joe Burns as he manages the mischief behind the traditional Punch & Judy booth on Swanage Central Beach.
Bring a beach picnic or grab a seaside snack from one of the nearby ice-cream and coffee huts to enjoy while you watch the show.
Dates & Timings
There are three shows a day (weather permitting) at the following times:
- 12pm
- 1.30pm
- 3pm
Find Prof Joe at The Punch & Judy booth on Swanage Beach on the following dates:

- Sunday 5th July
- Sunday 12th July – Saturday 5th September

Swanage Punch & Judy was a Top Ten winner in the 2024 Bucket & Spade List for Britain’s best seaside experiences, run by the Seaside Heritage Network, which celebrates and nurtures a sense of pride in Britain’s historic seaside resorts.
Prices
Swanage Punch & Judy is just £2 per person (kids & adults).
There’s no need to book – just find your favourite spot on the beach and the ‘bottler’ will come and collect your fee.

Location
- Location: You’ll find the Punch & Judy booth close to Banjo Pier – on the first stretch of Swanage Beach along from The Mowlem.
It’s right near the beach huts and large toilet block, as well as both indoor & outdoor family entertainment centres.
Swanage Information Centre is also nearby, so you can discover lots more fun things to do during your visit.
