There’s live music every day during Carnival week, with a range of local bands, groups and solo singers performing both on the main stage in the marquee and on the showground’s Ballard stage, which has a commanding view across Swanage Bay.
It’s a chance to catch some of Swanage and Purbeck’s established and up-and-coming bands, as well as names from further afield, with many returning favourites each year, such as Dorset’s Black Sheep Band, which provides the music for a good knees-up on Barn Dance Night.
There’s also live music as part of Wednesday’s pre-firework entertainment, at the Carnival street party and throughout the annual street procession.
Music covers all genres, from rock, soul and pop to steel and big bands, and from folk, choir and shanty songs to jazz and swing, and solo singer-songwriters.
Plus, for children, there’s an annual kid’s disco, as well as family karaoke and silent discos.
Catch live music throughout the week during the day and in the evening.
