Join in a fun day out on bike or foot today with the annual Ride & Stride for Dorset Churches event.
It’s open to anyone who enjoys getting out in nature.
The event raises money for historic churches in the county – please make a cash donation on the day
- Start time: 10.30am
- Meeting point: St Mark’s Church, Bell Street BH19 2SA
- Please bring: Suitable footwear, water and suncream/waterproof clothing as appropriate
- Dogs welcome on a lead
- No need to book, just turn up
The Routes
There are three walking/cycling routes of varying lengths to choose from in Swanage.
Walk One: 4 miles
- Start at St Mark’s Church
- Walk to Worth Matravers for lunch (bring a packed lunch or buy locally)
- Walk back to Acton and catch a bus back to Swanage
Walk Two: 6 miles
- Start at St Mark’s Church in Swanage
- As above, but continue on to Kingston before taking the bus back to Swanage
Walk Two: 8 miles
- Start at St Mark’s Church in Swanage
- As above, but continue on to Corfe, stopping for a social drink (optional) before returning by bus to Swanage
