A brand new photographic event is coming to Purbeck this spring in association with Sandy Hill Arts in Corfe Castle.
The inaugural nine-day Purbeck Photography Festival will be a pilot event with a view to becoming a biennial festival.
The event will showcase the works of emerging local photographers alongside national and international artists.
The title and theme for this first 2027 festival is Beyond the Pale.
Exhibitions, which will be free to visit and held at Sandy Hill Arts, The Mowlem and along the seafront in Swanage, will focus on landscape and public access to it.
There will also be a photographic competition open across the country, plus a local school project.
And you can get hands-on experience at a range of workshops including cyanotypes and sun-printing.
Festival details are still being planned, but it’s hoped there will also be photographic talks, a community portrait project and themed films at The Rex cinema as part of the festival.
