Each Boxing Day, the Purbeck Mummers head to the pubs of Corfe Castle and surrounds to delight and entertain with their seasonal performances.
Inspired by the mummers of old, they’re a troupe of seasonal folk performers keeping a much-loved English tradition alive, and will be collecting for local charities along the way.
Timings
Catch the Purbeck Mummers at the following locations in Corfe Castle and Worth Matravers villages on Boxing Day:
- 12pm: Corfe Castle village square
- 12.30pm: The Fox Inn
- 1pm: The Bankes Arms Hotel
- 1.30pm: The Castle Inn
- 2.15pm: The Square & Compass (Worth Matravers)
(Note that these Mummers are self-proclaimed ‘not very tame’ and warn that they may get waylaid between pubs, so the above timings are approximate.)
