🗓️ Tuesday 3rd – Tuesday 31st October 2023
*All pumpkins now sold out. Christmas trees will be on sale from 2nd December*
Head down to Lenctenbury Farm to pick your own carving and decorative pumpkins, and choose from a wide range of eating pumpkin and squash varieties for your autumn soup.
Picking your own pumpkin is a fun way to get into the spirit of the season ahead of Halloween and kids will enjoy collecting their own with the sledges provided.
There’s over 3,000 pumpkins at the farm – keep an eye on their social media for opening times and updates.
The PYO tends to be open till around 31 October or until all pumpkins are picked.
In addition to the picking fields, you’ll find a great range of pumpkins and squashes in all shapes, sizes and colours in the barn – from mini pumpkins to the very large (25kg+), as well as some fantastic eating squashes such as the Crown Prince.
The friendly staff can explain more about all the varieties grown here, which include Kuri, Tonda Panda, Kabocha, Flat White Boer, Queensland Blue, Marina di Chioggia, Casperita and Sweet Lightning.
Your freshly-picked pumpkins and squash should be kept in a cool and dry place.
- Wellies are advised if the weather’s been wet
- Note that dogs are not allowed in the picking fields
- Admission to the PYO is free
How does it work?
Simply grab a sledge and head to the picking field to choose your favourite pumpkins and pull them back to the barn for weighing.
As a guide, it’s £1 per kilogram for all pumpkins and squash – both cash and card are accepted.
You can also choose from a selection of pre-picked pumpkins in the barn, which are beautifully displayed on hay bales for a perfectly autumnal festive atmosphere. Some of the more unusual varieties might have their own pricing.
In the summer the farm also has a great range of berries available for picking throughout June to August, including strawberries, gooseberries, redcurrants and raspberries.
Opening times
- The PYO is open daily from 10am – 5pm
- Note that 31st October is a provisional end date for picking-your-own pumpkin – it will stay open till all pumpkins are picked or sold from the barn
