🗓️ Friday 20th October – Tuesday 12th December 2023
Explore Swanage-based artist Lewis Peake’s latest exhibition at The Mowlem.
His art practice combines digital work with models created from locally-sourced clay as references to produce futuristic works.
The clay models are 3D-scanned before being digitally manipulated and produced into large-scale prints – five of which will be on display at The Mowlem till early December.
The futuristic works include elements of space architecture, creatures and the archaeology of ancient civilisations.
Peake’s previous work has included concept art on various TV productions including His Dark Materials and Dracula (BBC), Bridgerton (Netflix) and HBO’s acclaimed House of the Dragon. He has also produced and directed four short films.
You can view New Worlds – the title of which reflects both themes in the exhibition and Peake’s move from London to Dorset six years ago – at the following times:
- Daytimes (Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturdays) – 11am – 1.30pm
- Evenings (Monday – Saturday) – 5.30pm – 9.30pm and whenever The Showbar is open
