Fossil Mary explores the story of Lyme Regis-born fossil-hunter and palaeontologist Mary Anning.
The play celebrates Anning’s life and discoveries, including the incredible story of her dinosaur skeleton find at the age of just 12.
It explores the impact Anning’s discoveries had on the way people thought about the evolution of life on earth, alongside how her gender and social status at the time prevented her from receiving proper credit for her pioneering work.
In 2010, she was recognised by The Royal Society as one of the ten most influential women in British science history – Fossil Mary pays tribute to Mary Anning’s life and achievements.
