D-Day at 80: Studland Celebrates

🗓️ Thursday 6th – Sunday 9th June 2024

Studland is holding four days of events to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Thursday 6th June

  • 2pm – 4pm: Historical exhibition at Studland village hall, with refreshments
  • 6.15pm: Service of Remembrance at Fort Henry
  • 6.30pm: The bells of St Nicholas’ Church will join in the national bell-ringing event
  • 6.30pm onwards: Gather at the Old Harry Bar (food available) for a tractor-trailer lift to Ballard Down (for the beacon-lighting)
  • 9.15pm: Beacon-lighting at Ballard Down

Friday 7th June

  • 2pm – 4pm: Historical exhibition in Studland village hall, with refreshments
  • 7pm – 8pm: Sarah Ferguson presents ‘Dad’s Longest Day’, at the village hall

Saturday 8th June

  • 2pm – 4pm: Village hall exhibition
  • 7pm: Party in the village hall with music from 8-piece swing band The Boogie Bumpers. (Tickets £10 from Studland Stores – £10 with fish & chip supper, £5 without)

Sunday 9th June

  • 10am: Service at St Nicholas’ Church
